Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche (1940-1987), incarnate lineage holder and master of both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism, was a meditation master, artist and poet, and a genuine friend to thousands of Westerners. He founded Shambhala International, Shambhala Training and Naropa University, as well as numerous meditation centers. His writings and teachings continue to have a profound influence on Buddhism in the West.
