The eight auspicious symbols represent the offerings made by the gods to Shakyamuni Buddha when he attained enlightenment.  

In this representation, the auspicious symbols or ashtamangala — the blossoming lotus, conch shell, endless knot, treasure vase, parasol, fish, dharma wheel, and victory banner — combine to form one image.
