Four Dignity Wall Plaques   [Z00879]

This delightful representation of Tiger, Lion, Garuda, and Dragon, known in Shambhala Buddhism as the "Four Dignities"* was loving created by Buddhist artist Katie Haggerty. Mount them as a set, or place them individually around your home as reminders of wakeful energy.

Cast Forton, reinforced gypsum cement (cast stone). Finished in metallic gold effect. Pieces mount easily on any vertical surface that will securely hold a small nail.

Set of 4; each piece approx. 6" x 5.75"

*Tiger: Tiger roams the jungle completely at ease, yet with every hair attuned to its surroundings. This balance of alert and relaxed expresses the Shambhala dignity called "Meek", a sense of being fully present without imposing one's preferences on the environment.

Lion: The Tibetan snow lion is said to leap from peak to peak, full of appreciation for the purity of its world. Associated with the Shambhala dignity of "Perky," this striking Lion appears as though in mid-leap, conquering its world through simply being open to every part of it.

Garuda: The mythical Garuda hatches fully mature, leaps immediately into the air, and remains forever in flight. According to the Shambhala teachings, Garuda is "Outrageous": fearless and cheerful in the face of all life's vagaries.

Dragon: "Inscrutable" is the dignity ascribed to the fiery Dragon. Never reacting to events, always maintaining unshakable integrity, Dragon is a vivid reflection of our own capacity for genuine self-expression.
