Tatami mats are the traditional Japanese flooring, and are widely used in Japanese tea rooms and Zen meditation halls. They're made of natural rushes and bordered in black, they wipe clean with ease, and last for years. Our tatami are perfect for meditation spaces, or other small niches that need to be set off as special.

Construction: Japanese Rush Grass with a double top layer for extra protection. The inside is a baked Dried Rice Straw Fill for strength and durability. Each mat is sewn with a black fabric border and bound with twine. A moisture resistant barrier is included in the foundation of the mat.
