Standing Tara with Lotus

Tara is often referred to as the "Mother of all the Buddhas". Born from a tear that fell from the eye of Avalokitesvara, she is the embodiment of compassion and is associated with longevity and healing.

This stunning statue is reproduction of a 14th century Nepalese Tara; she is richly adorned and exudes an air of transcendent elegance. Her right hand is in the mudra (gesture) of compassion, symbolizing the wish to devote oneself to human salvation. Her left hand is raised in the teaching mudra. A pink lotus blooms above her left shoulder, showing that we all have the potential to attain enlightenment.

Cold cast bronze; 12.5"h x 2.5"w at base
